My Eastern European adventure started off in St Petersburg. This place has been on my bucket list for a long time as my great grandfather lived here as a little boy. He had to flee the country during the Russian revolution. Walking through the city made me think of how my ancestors used to walk on the same streets and I could to a certain extent feel at home in the city.
