The word Zimbabwe means “House of Stone”, which originates from this particular place. The ancient city of Great Zimbabwe was occupied between the 12th and 15th centuries, and it was the largest settlement in southern Africa. This place is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Great Zimbabwe served as a royal palace for the Zimbabwean monarch and would have been used as the seat of political power. While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls is classified as the largest, based on its combined width and height, resulting in the world's largest sheet of falling water. David Livingstone is believed to have been the first European to view Victoria Falls on 16 November 1855. Victoria Falls has also been listed as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the Wold. Thank you Africa for all the amazing experiences! I will never forget • Having dinner by the camp fire and sleeping on the savanna with hippos and lions wandering outside the tent. ⛺️🦁🦛 • Spending countless hours on a overland truck without AC.🚍😅 • Stopping by the side of the road and cooking lunch together and flapping our dishes to get them dry. 🍽 • Seeing the great migration in the Serengeti 🦓 • Getting to know some amazing people and by the end becoming like a little traveling family. Our trip was cut short by half and I know that someday I will be back to finish the trip the way we were supposed but until then I’m going to try and enjoy my local area and find hidden gems that I’ve never seen before. 🇸🇪
